After a job offer by Felicia Koons, Hank starts working as college professor and soon gets into trouble, while Charlie interferes with Marcy's romantic life...

At a university mixer, Hank comforts his assistant who was dumped in his very own way and Charlie celebrates his first talent signing.

Becca drags Hank to a trendy shopping boutique to pick out some more grown-up attire. But Hank isn’t so sure he likes the new Becca’s makeover. At work, Hank juggles sexual encounters with teacher’s aide Jill (DIANE FARR) and boss Felicia (EMBETH DAVIDTZ). And finally, in an attempt to figure out why talented writer Jackie (EVA AMURRI) is missing class, Hank drags Charlie to the strip club where she works. Unfortunately, temptation gets the better of Hank. Charlie and Marcy attempt to sell their house, but an unexpected surprise chases the buyers away.

Becca pays Karen a visit in New York for the weekend and Hank is left on his own, until his old friend Mike Zlosowski from Long Island shows up. Together, the two have a great time at Sue Collini's party. In the meantime, the revelation of a secret abruptly interrupts Charlie and Marcy's regained sex life.

After a "Skypus interruptus" with Karen, Jackie shows up at Hank’s apartment together with two strippers and a bottle of Whisky. The next morning, Hank has an unconscious stripper girl in his apartment. When Charlie shows up with Rick Springfield, they first try to help, but then Jill shows up as well, and she is not the last surprise of the morning.

When Becca and her friend Chelsea get into a brawl on campus, it leads to the revelation of one of Hank's affairs. In the meantime, Charlie risks his job trying to hold Marcy off drug addict Rick Springfield...

When Charlie loses his job, Hank takes him out to town. Meanwhile, Karen, Becca and Marcy have a girl’s night out.

At the dean’s end-of-semester mixer, Hank ends up mixing it up with his boss in a Civil War-style duel. Elsewhere, it’s a momentous occasion for Charlie and Marcy as their divorce becomes final on the same day that they finally sell their house.

As the Moodys at last prepare to move to New York, Becca tells Hank about an intimate coming of age experience she had. Hank, 's stunned when Mia shows up at the house unannounced, in town with her slimy boyfriend - manager PAUL for a book signing. Hank fails to prevent Mia and Paul from hatching a devious publicity stunt, forcing Hank to finally share the long-buried heartbreaking secret with Karen. gives Charlie a career opportunity of a lifetime, but Charlie must confront the fact that he might be losing Marcy for good.
